Dear Parents,

Following further increases in the cost of the pitches and referees, plus the extra insurances the Sussex FA have insisted we have for the upcoming season, it has become clear that the current subscription levels are going to need to be raised. Over the course of the last two seasons, the club has relied heavily on the personal contributions from the committee members but with the number of teams dropping down to just 2 this season, this is no longer sustainable. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how we go about introducing this increase, along with the way we collect these subscriptions and have come up with a plan.

We shall no longer be asking for a signing on fee, nor shall we charge subscriptions for either individual matches or training sessions. Instead we will be introducing a monthly subscription of £15. This will cover ALL of your son/daughters costs for the season. The exception will be any additional trips/events organised, and presentation night. In order to try and reduce the impact of the increases on you, the parents, I have spread the costs across a 10 month period.

This monthly subscription is due on the 1st of each month, starting on the 1st August, and will run for 10 months with the last payment on the 1st May 2011. We will be offering a number of methods for payment.

1) A monthly standing order, direct from your bank, on the 1st of the month.
2) Cash or cheque payment paid on the 1st of the month, the first payment due immediately
3) 2 payments of £70. The 1st due immediately, the second due 1st January 2011
4) 1 payment of £135 due immediately.

You will be able to choose your preferred payment method when you complete your membership form.

Whilst we have always endeavoured to keep the costs to you, the parents, as low as possible, the latest round of fee increases by the league, council and FA, have meant these raised subscriptions have been unavoidable. However I hope we have come up with a way that makes them slightly more bearable and I am sure you will agree, its still great value for money.
